Landscape Architects & Garden Designers

Drone photography offers landscape architects and garden designers a plethora of benefits, revolutionizing how they plan, design, and showcase their work. Here are some key advantages:

  1. Aerial Perspective: Drones provide a unique bird’s-eye view of landscapes that was previously only accessible through expensive helicopter rentals or satellite imagery. This perspective allows designers to see the entirety of a site, understand its topography, and identify potential challenges and opportunities.

  2. Site Analysis: Drones equipped with high-resolution cameras can capture detailed imagery of sites, enabling landscape architects and designers to conduct thorough site analysis. This includes assessing sunlight exposure, drainage patterns, vegetation distribution, and existing structures, which are crucial for informed design decisions.

  3. Enhanced Planning and Design: With accurate aerial imagery, designers can create more precise and effective design plans. They can overlay drone-captured images with design sketches or digital renderings to visualize how proposed changes will integrate with the existing landscape.

  4. Client Communication: Drone photography enhances client communication by providing visually compelling presentations. Clients can better understand proposed designs when presented with aerial imagery showcasing how their property will look post-implementation. This can facilitate client buy-in and lead to smoother project approval processes.

  5. Marketing and Promotion: High-quality aerial photographs and videos captured by drones are excellent marketing tools for landscape architects and garden designers. Stunning aerial shots can be used in portfolios, websites, social media, and marketing materials to showcase the designer’s skills and attract new clients.

  6. Progress Monitoring: Throughout the construction phase, drones can be used to monitor project progress. Regular aerial surveys provide designers with up-to-date information on how the project is evolving, allowing for timely adjustments and ensuring that the design intent is being realized.

Drones can quickly capture extensive areas with high precision, reducing the need for manual labor and lengthy site visits.

  8. Environmental Impact Assessment: Drones can help assess the environmental impact of proposed designs on surrounding ecosystems. By monitoring vegetation health, wildlife habitats, and water bodies from above, designers can minimize negative environmental effects and incorporate sustainable practices into their projects.

Overall, drone photography empowers landscape architects and garden designers with valuable insights, enhances design quality, improves client communication, and streamlines project management, ultimately leading to more successful and sustainable landscape projects.

General Information About Our Drone Services

Below is a brief outline of our services and applicable conditions. The use of drones in the UK is highly regulated by the CAA. We are fully certificated and insured to operate drones safely.

Safety, Certification & Planning

At ScreenWrx, safety is paramount. We ensure this through rigorous pre-flight checks and on-site examinations for every drone. Our team briefs clients thoroughly on project risks and safety measures.

With CAA Operational Authorisation and A2 CofC, and £5m in Public Liability coverage, we guarantee legal compliance. We conduct online surveys for airspace restrictions and risk assessments for each job. Cordons and marked landing areas are established on-site, with all aircraft equipped with “return to home” features.

An operations plan is created before every flight, and the pilot determines safety on the day.

Copyright and Use of Material

ScreenWrx holds copyright for all aerial photography and footage, negotiable for buyout in specific contracts. Clients can freely use material for promotion, media, print, and advertising, outlined in our terms.

Selling or allowing 3rd party use without prior written agreement is prohibited. We reserve the right to use footage for our promotion across various media channels.

Client material won’t be used until published, and we may supply it to stock libraries later.

We monitor weather forecasts 5 days ahead of shoots. If conditions look unfavourable, we notify clients 48 hours prior and reschedule at no extra cost, transferring the deposit to the new date.

While weather is a UK business risk, we aim for flexibility. If rescheduling isn’t possible due to factors beyond our control, deposits aren’t refunded. If we stick to the original date despite bad weather, our pilots wait on-site.

If we can’t shoot, we charge in full but offer a 25% discount on the second shoot.
