Our drone film & photography business is producing cost-effective aerial cinematography and videography with shooting angles and reveals, previously only available on big budget productions.

We have a live HD video feed from the drone to the ground, allowing us to view and change in real time camera angles and setting from the ground. We operate with one or two crew depending on the job.

Safety, Certification & Planning

ScreenWrx is committed to safety for our team and our clients and this is achieved through our thorough preparation and safety procedures. Each drone is meticulously examined on site and thorough pre-flight checks take place. Our team will fully brief the clients on how the project will be carried out, so all parties involved fully understand any identified risks and safety measures being used.

ScreenWrx is covered to £5m Public Liability and Indemnity and hold the CAA Operational Authorisation and the A2 CofC, which are legal requirements for commercially flying drones in UK Airspace.

The CAA approval regulations are very detailed but we are able to help you through the process of making an aerial shoot both legal and safe. ScreenWrx will carry out a detailed online pre-flight survey with location check that includes airspace restrictions, nearby airports and no fly zones to see if there are any flight restrictions we need to be aware of.

A risk assessment is carried out for each aerial photography job on an individual basis in accordance with CAA guidance. Onsite we include cordons, clearly marked landing area, and ground safety personnel. All aircraft are fitted with “return to home” safety features.

An operations plan for each job is written and checked before any flights are undertaken. On the day the pilot has final say when determining if flying conditions and the location can be “deemed safe”.

Our drones have a flight time of up to thirty minutes and we always carry enough batteries to fulfil the aerial task, combined with rapid drone charging facilities.

Weather

We monitor the weather forecast 5 days in advance of any shoot. If the signs are not good we talk to the client 48 hours prior to the shoot. At this point we will reschedule the shoot to the next suitable date at no additional cost and the booking deposit is transferred to the new date.

Weather is a known business risk in the UK, so we have to be as flexible as possible to ensure that bookings can be rearranged. If the shoot cannot be re-scheduled due to factors out of our control (live events, client availability) ScreenWrx do not offer a refund of the initial deposit.

If we both decide to stay with the original date and we have bad weather, our pilots will wait on site as long as possible in the hope of a break in the weather. If we arrive on site and are unable to shoot on the day we will charge in full, but offer clients a 25% discount off the price of the second shoot on the follow up date.
